Entry #4 Ukraine and Russia

  

            

  We're only about to be on month three of this new year, and already so much has happened. This blog entry is just a little recap of what's been going on so far, or what's going. So far there's been a lot of chaos especially since we are still being impacted by a pandemic. 


 


    As we can see from the map, Ukraine has a big massive border to the east side with Russia. Even though you can't really see it, to the west side is Europe. Back in the seventh hundreds the Russian empire was massive, it even controlled several countries like Poland for example. It all came to an end eventually. Certain Russians like Putin for example, love the idea of the Russian Empire. For some weird reason people obsessed with that idea still consider many of those European countries that were part of the Russian Empire to be Russian. That includes Ukraine. Despite the fact that Ukraine is its own independent country with their president. There's lots of factors to this battle, but one of the main reasons would be because of Nato. Basically it's a military or organization, in which thirty countries take part off. Lots of them are in Europe, but one of the biggest and Russia's enemy the US. Ukraine has made it loud and clear that they have been wanting to be part of Nato, but Russia doesn't necessarily like that idea, because their biggest neighbor would become a Nato ally. The biggest thing with Nato is that if you attack one country part of Nato, you attack them all. A couple days ago, early in the morning President Putin ordered Russian tanks over the border, he claimed at the time he only did it to protect peace.  

Recently Russian forces launched a big massive military assault on Ukraine. It's being said that there has been reports of bombing and shelling, in Ukraine's major cities all over the country. A couple days ago, the United States' president Joe Bien said that Russia will be held accountable. Just as the president predicted, sadly lots of lives have been taken away. Lots of innocent people have died. Majority of them being civilians.

    I like this it is very strait to the point. Their is no good way to fix this situation without looking like it will be nuclear war.

    Hey Yasmin, I liked reading your blog. There were some questions I had like why is Putin launching attacks and you answered that in the Blog. I also like the images that you added because I feel like they improve your blog and it looks better that way.

    Hey Yasmin! I just wanted to comment that your blog was great and straight forwards and used solid reasoning to back up your topic. Your blog has also provided me with new information I didn't know about the Russian vs Ukraine war. So overall a solid blog!.

Entry #10 School Safety

   We come to school almost on a daily basis to learn and to see our friends, let's be honest. Usually when it comes to school we think of it as a safe place. Lots of people think of schools as a safe zone because majority of schools are constantly being protected by police officers on campus. It came down to police officers having to be on watch on school grounds because of tragic events that have occurred in the past. Which is sad to think about. Are schools really safe? Even with measurements taken to protect students? Recently I came across a story that is truly devastating. Alycia Reynaga was a 15 year old who had her life planned ahead of her but sadly was cut short. This story truly hit me hard because I have a sibling who is the same age as her, and they're both freshmen in high school. She loved softball. In fact she was on the high school team, she was loved by her teammates and lots of people. Her community still remains disbelief.  She was murdered on school grounds

        Ducey: Why Arizona needs more college grads               Hi welcome back, today's blog isn't going to be about the weather this time, or what has been going on with Russia and Ukraine, or Covid. Instead we are going to talk about a local news article that came out a couple of years ago called "why Arizona needs more college grads".
